In educational institutions and work places in almost all sectors women are harassed and tortured. In order to prevent such situations and to provide justice to work and study without fear of harassment, as per the direction of U.G.C, a committee is functioning since 2010 in Berhampur University. To understand the occurring situations against women, the University Complaint Committee on Sexual Harassment against Women at Workplace is constituted with Prof. Aparajita Choudhury, as Chairperson since 2010.
