Achievement of Students at the All India Level

In Weight Lifting & Best Physique we have won Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals in All India Inter University Weight Lifting & Best Physique Competitions in number of occasions.

So far the activities and concerned, Sports Council of Berhampur University had produced many talented Sports Men and Women in the recent years. In Basketball, Football, Weight-Lifting & Best Physique Students have brought laurel for Berhampur University. During the last two years our performance in the games of Table Tennis and Kabaddi, Basketball, Football and Boxing has improved to a great extent. Table Tennis reaches in quarter final at the Inter University tournament and Weight Lifting reaches securing fourth position in the All India Inter University Weight Lifting Competition during the year 2014-15 and 2015-16. One of our University boys securing First position (Gold) in the East zone Inter University Athletic meet during the year 1993. Three of our University boys have represented in the All India Inter University Cricket Tournament (Vizy Trophy).

Since the establishment of this University in 1967, the University Basketball team have became champion in Basketball in the East Zone tournament Six times and runners-up eight time and qualified to participate in the All India Inter University tournaments. Four of our University boys have represented the India in Junior Basketball Team at Sri Lanka in the year 1972, they are Sri Ashok Kumar Sahu, Sarat

Chandra Padhi, Ajit Kumar Roy and Sri Gagan Bihari Mahapatra, In the field of Weight Lifting Mr. Bijay Kumar Satapathy our University had received many medals in Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and many International competitions and for his credit he has also received Arjun Award in Weight Lifting in the year 1990, which is the highest award in the field of Sports. During the year 1995-96 the Women Badminton team of our University had secured second position in the East Zone and qualified to participate in the All India Inter University Inter Zonal Badminton Tournaments.
