UGC Coaching Centre for SC/ST

The UGC Coaching Centre for SC, ST Minorities and OBC students (Non-Creamy layer) had its beginning in the year 2012 in this University with one Coordinator. The centre offers coaching to the students under three different UGC coaching schemes (XII plan) such as UGC-NET Coaching, Competitive Examination Entrance Coaching and remedial coaching in various subjects. The coaching classes commenced on all working days including holidays and Sundays by both internal and external resource persons. Each batch as a unit carries minimum of 25 numbers of students according to the UGC- guidelines. The coaching classes are scheduled in the morning session from 7.00 am to 10.00 am and in the evening session form 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. In addition to this, study materials were also provided to the students for their convenience. From the year 2012- to 2015, 463 numbers of students have been enrolled and received coaching from the Centre.

Aims and Objectives

  • Provide coaching and career guidance among SC, ST, Minorities and OBC students. (Non-Creamy layer)
  • Organize coaching and capacity building for competitive examinations.
  • Conduct remedial coaching for strengthening theoretical knowledge.

Future Plans

  • Provide coaching and career guidance to the students by external experts.

  • Facilitate capacity building among students of Marginalized communities among P.G. Departments of the University.

  • Organize workshops on soft skills and communicative English with different agencies.

It is an affirmative initiative of the University through which the SC, ST, Minorities and OBC students are provided with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and other skills and to have a career of their choice.
